The Client

First Light Travel specialise in self-drive holidays and small tours, creating once-in-a-lifetime New Zealand holidays.

The Brief

I was briefed to produce an e-guide for First Light Travel. It needed to be a fairly small file size to allow for easy website downloads or emailing. Armed with the text I was asked to create a design which would integrate well with the clients overall brand identity.

My Approach

I created a clean, contemporary design with each section featuring a bold heading and two column content. Once I created the master page design and set up styles within InDesign, I was able to complete the rest of the guide on time and on budget.

Several beautiful New Zealand images were used (from clients website and stock libraries) to really showcase their offering. The images were carefully manipulated and used minimally on the cover and section headers to ensure the overall file size was manageable. A later addition to the guide was adding a graphic page covering the full range of services on offer. For this page I created custom ‘outline’ style icons, and a glove illustration showing air travel between Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, working with a colour scheme which complemented the overall brand.

The Impact

First Light Travel were delighted with the guide design! I am informed it has been a popular download for their website visitors.
